French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment

INRAE

INRAE (France’s National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) focuses on 3 research topics: nutrition, agriculture and environment. The objective to develop sustainable agricultural approaches respectful of the environment & promoting Humans health and nutritional needs. INRAE is Europe’s top agricultural research institute and the world’s number two centre for agricultural science. With above 8,000 persons (2,000 researchers), 500 PhD students and more than 50% women, the institute publishes more than 4,000 scientific publications per year. The INRAE TOXALIM unit (UMR1331) is INRAE’s research center in Food Toxicology, with internationally recognized expertise in toxicology, metabolism, metabolomics & systems biology. Studies focus on the effects of toxicants on Human & animal health. Staff is 200 persons (75 researchers, 10 research teams, 3 platforms). INRAE is the coordinating partner of  the French national infrastructure for metabolomics and fluxomics (“MetaboHUB”) and partner in many national and international projects on exposure and hazards linked with EDCs and food contaminants.

Role in the project

INRAE will apply Genome Scale Modelling approaches on tissues and cells to decipher metabolic modulations induced by MASLD progression in the context of EDC exposure based on omics data. Complementary, INRAE will use FORUM knowledge graph to extract information connecting EDC-modulated metabolites and biological concepts related to MASLD.
