The Príncipe Felipe Research Center (CIPF) at the Valencia Biomedical Research Foundation (FVIB) is a cutting-edge biomedical institute affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana.
The mission of the CIPF is to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of human disease and apply this knowledge to the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. We are firmly committed to improving the lives of patients through the translation of laboratory discoveries to the clinical setting. The CIPF has cutting-edge infrastructure and an ambitious research program that provide a competitive edge in European science.
The main aim of the CIPF is to tackle relevant, unmet problems in biomedical research and promote translation of results to clinical applications through a multidisciplinary approach and scientific excellence. We continuously develop research lines on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of metabolic diseases, cancer, rare diseases, neuroinflammation, cognitive decline and other processes related to ageing, new technologies for diagnostics, advanced therapies in biomedical research, nanomedicine, cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and the application of bioinformatics and biostatistics to human health.
The CIPF currently fosters the following scientific structure: 3 scientific research programs populated by 20 research groups, 4 transversal, tools-based programs, 10 joint research units that reflect partnerships with major hospitals and universities.
Role in the project
CIPF participates in WP5 of the EDC-MASLD project, more specifically leading task 5.4 in which advacced in vitro, an in vivo models i.e zebrafish and mice will be used to investigate effect of EDCs exposure on the progression of MASLD.
