IBISS is the leading multidisciplinary scientific institution in Serbia in the field of biological sciences. The Institute focuses on fundamental and multidisciplinary research across various biological disciplines, including biochemistry, molecular biology, cytology, animal physiology, plant physiology, neurobiology, neurophysiology, immunology, genetics, ecology of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, environmental protection, taxonomy, and organic evolution. IBISS actively participates in the higher education system in Serbia by educating young researchers through various scientific activities and conducting numerous diploma, postgraduate and doctoral theses. Also, IBISS is very active in science promotion and popularization.
